St Mary's Church, Lavey

From Belfast

  • Take the M2, for Derry
  • At the end of the M2, stay on the main road for Derry
  • At the Castledawson roundabout take the A6 exit in the direction of Derry/Maghera
  • Continue on the main road and you will pass Regan Tiles on your right (2.5 miles), at 2.7 miles take the centre lane for turning right onto Lurganagoose Road
  • Continue on Lurganagoose Road for 0.7 miles until you come to the crossroads in Knockloughrim
  • Go straight ahead at the cross roads onto to Quarry Road, sign posted for Gulladuff
  • Continue on Quarry Road for 1.4 miles until you reach the cross roads in Gulladuff
  • Take right at the cross roads, sign posted for Clady, then take the next left (less than 0.1 mile!) sign posted for Portglenone
  • Continue for 0.5 miles. Lavey Chapel is on your left, the car park is on your right.

From Armagh

  • Head for Cookstown
  • From Cookstown follow road signs to Moneymore
  • From Moneymore follow road signs to Magherafelt
  • In Magherafelt follow road signs to Castledawson until you come to the Castledawson Roundabout
  • At the Castledawson roundabout take the A6 exit in the direction of Derry/Maghera
  • Continue on the main road and you will pass Regan Tiles on your right (2.5 miles), at 2.7 miles take the centre lane for turning right onto Lurganagoose Road
  • Continue on Lurganagoose Road for 0.7 miles until you come to the crossroads in Knockloughrim
  • Go straight ahead at the cross roads onto to Quarry Road, sign posted for Gulladuff
  • Continue on Quarry Road for 1.4 miles until you reach the cross roads in Gulladuff
  • Take right at the cross roads, sign posted for Clady, then take the next left (less than 0.1 mile!) sign posted for Portglenone
  • Continue for 0.5 miles. Lavey Chapel is on your left, the car park is on your right.

From Derry

  • Take the main road to Belfast, via Dungiven
  • At the bottom of the Glenshane you will pass a Texaco Filling station on your right.
  • From the filling station continue on the main road for 2.2 miles and turn left onto Mullagh Road, signed posted Maghera
  • Continue on the Mullagh Road for 0.5 miles until you come to a T junction
  • At the T Junction turn right
  • Continue for 0.8 miles and turn left onto Gulladuff Road (sign posted Gulladuff/A42)
  • Continue on Gulladuff Road for 1.8 miles and turn left, sign posted for Portglenone
  • Continue for 0.5 miles. Lavey Chapel is on your left, the car park is on your right.



To Royal Court Hotel, Portrush

Gulladuff

  • Leave chapel heading in the direction of Gulladuff (0.5 miles).
  • At the T Junction turn right towards Maghera, (Gulladuff Road).
  • Continue on this road for 1.8 miles until you come to a T Junction.
  • Take right at this T Junction heading towards Maghera, (Approximately 1 mile).
  • Continue through Maghera town, take right at Walsh’s hotel onto the A29.
  • Continue on the A29, first through Swatragh and then through Garvagh (9.4 miles from Maghera).
  • Continue to follow the A29 for a further 9.2 miles to the new Roundabout.

Coleraine

  • Take 3rd turn off the roundabout towards Coleraine past the jet centre on the right.
  • At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A29 (signposted Town Centre) continue over the bridge.
  • At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A29 (signposted Ring Road East, Portrush)
  • At Ballycastle Road roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Ring Road – A29 (signposted Portrush, Portstewart)
  • At Bushmills Road roundabout take the2nd exit onto Ring Road – A29 (signposted Portrush, Portstewart)
  • At Portrush Road roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Portrush Road – A29 (signposted Portrush)

Portrush

  • Continue onto Coleraine Road – A29. Entering Portrush
  • At Metropole roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Eglinton Street – A2
  • At mini-roundabout turn right onto Corcknamack Road – A2 (signposted Bushmills)
  • Royal Court Hotel is 4 miles away. Go straight past Kelly’s and the caravan park for 4 miles. You will come to a fork in the road. Take the right, which goes up the hill, onto the B62 to Ballymoney. The Royal Court is immediately on the left you can’t miss it.
